Information for Kiwibank Customers

From 28 February 2020 Kiwibank has announced that it will no longer be processing cheques.

If you’re not a Kiwibank customer, then this doesn’t affect you. So, for all our amazing supporters who are with other banks and prefer to donate or buy lottery tickets by cheque, you don’t need to change.

If you’re a Kiwibank customer who supports us by sending cheques, this is for you.

We would really appreciate it if you would consider changing to a different payment method.

These are the options to donate or buy lottery tickets:

To donate, you can:

  • Use a credit/debit card by post, securely on our website or by calling us on 09 489 1510
  • Post a cheque from another bank
  • Make a regular donation at an amount that suits you by joining Team Rescue
  • Direct credit using internet banking -  Coastguard ASB Account 12-3209-0434030-01 and use your supporter number as a reference.
  • Visit your branch and make your donation face to face – ask the bank to use your supporter number as a reference.
  • Call your branch and they will process your donation over the phone. Ask them to use your supporter number as a reference.

To buy lottery tickets, you can:

  • Use a credit/debit card or send a cheque from another bank by post. Simply choose the lottery you'd like to buy tickets for, download the order form from the page, fill it in and post it back.

Unfortunately, we can’t currently accept lottery ticket payments by direct credit or through online methods. This is beyond our control – our lotteries are strictly regulated by the Gambling Act 2003. We apologise for the inconvenience and hope that you will be happy to pay by cheque or credit card. Your support is needed now more than ever, as this lottery provides vital funding for volunteer marine search and rescue services in New Zealand.
