Inboard Engine Maintenance 

A large number of our callouts are for breakdowns, and many could’ve been avoided through better engine maintenance, recognising problems earlier or having the knowledge to run through some basic troubleshooting. This is the course for anyone who wants to gain essential knowledge on the operation and care of inboard diesel engines.

What will I learn?

The course covers the following modules:

  • Diesel fuel systems and lubrication
  • Cooling systems: salt and fresh water cooled
  • Electrical systems: battery care and electrolysis
  • General systems overview: gearboxes and drives, and fault finding

The course takes 8 hours, and you can study at home or in the classroom during the day, evening or weekend.

Outboard Engine Maintenance 

If you want to gain knowledge on the operation and care of small to medium sized outboard engines, then Outboard Engine Maintenance is an essential course covering outboard care and trouble-shooting.

What will I learn?

The course covers the following modules:

  • Basic principles & outboard components
  • General systems overview: fuel and cooling systems, electrical and propellers
  • Troubleshooting: spares and tools, and fault-finding

The course takes 6 hours, and you can study at home or in the classroom during the day, evening or weekend.
