EVERY CATCH DESERVES
A SAFE RETURN

Offshore fishing offers a different kind of appeal, from inshore trips, such as deeper water, greater distances, and the chance to catch serious gamefish in some of the most exciting conditions on offer.

For many fishers, it’s the draw of chasing tuna, working the open ocean, and putting both skill and patience to the test.

Offshore fishing delivers some of the most rewarding days on the water, but it also brings bigger risks.

Changing weather, fatigue, and high-pressure decisions can all make the difference between a successful trip and a dangerous one.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Southern Bluefin Tuna Seminar Series. The current seminar series has now concluded.

Coastguard Tautiaki Moana and the New Zealand Sport Fishing Council are planning the next series of seminars, with dates and locations to be announced once confirmed.

Designed for recreational fishers targeting Southern Bluefin Tuna, these seminars provide practical advice to help you prepare for offshore trips, make informed decisions on the water, and return home safely.

We look forward to sharing details of the next series soon.
