Clyde

Vessel Information

The 5.8 metre Naiad jet ‘Clyde Coastguard Rescue’ vessel has a long history of service with Coastguard, beginning its life as a surf rescue vessel with Sumner Lifeboat in Christchurch. It was purchased in 2006 and has since undergone several upgrades including motor renovation, painting and new floatation bags along with regular survey work.  A new marine radio has recently been purchased and a replacement GPS/Sounder unit is being investigated.

In 2012 we purchased a Mitsubishi Pajero vehicle second hand to launch and recover our rescue vessel.  Funding for this was provided by Central Lakes Trust and Pub Charity.
