Vessel Information

Coastguard Tutukaka's vessel, "Tutukaka Rescue", is equipped with twin 250hp Yamaha four-stroke engines and a full electronic suite of radar, depth sounder and GPS chartplotter that incorporates an infra-red camera to provide full day and night capabilities. 

The vessel also carries limited First Aid stores and equipment and a wide range of survival items that allow it to achieve 'survey' standards.  Crews train weekly and follow a national syllabus established by Coastguard New Zealand.
