Kawau

The Kawau Unit operates a 10.3 metre Naiad, rigid hulled inflatable boat named “Kawau Rescue” which has been in service since January 2010. It has twin Yanmar 315HP diesel engines and twin jet units rather than propellers, in calm seas it will cruise at around 28-30 knots. The boat weighs around 6.5 Tonnes and floats in around 60cm of water.

The vessel is kept on its trailer and is launched when required.

Since the vessel is approaching 15 years of age we are currently fundraising for a new boat.
