History
The origins of Coastguard Hawkes Bay go back to the 1980s when a group of dedicated and enthusiastic pleasure boat owners and professional fisherpersons formed the Offshore Rescue Vessel Group.
The group has evolved over the years and now the Coastguard Unit is at a stage where it has a “world class million dollar” boat and facilities that enable it to provide a high level of marine rescue services to the Hawkes Bay community.
