Coastguard Marlborough services a coastline of 1500km equal to the entire seaboard of the western United States. Callouts average 70 per annum and there are more than 30 active volunteers to answer the pager callouts, most in the Marlborough Sounds but some out in Cook Strait from Croisselles round to Ward.

About 60 per cent of our callouts involve medivacs of various types.

Based in Picton, our team meets on a Wednesday night each week to train.

Legal Name Coastguard Marlborough Inc
Charity Number  CC40693

Coastguard Marlborough runs a unique system where they manage the jetty numbers for residents in the Sounds and surrounding areas (which act like a letter box number). This system makes it easier to find exact locations for deliveries and in the event of emergencies.
