Coastguard Volunteer Conference 2016
We are looking forward to this year’s Volunteer Conference, 14-16 October 2016, as we celebrate our Ruby Anniversary of the Coastguard Federation. Click here for full information and to register.
It marks 40 years since marine search and rescue services throughout the country got together to form the Federation to unify the sea rescue services spread around the coast of New Zealand. The pioneers involved in the formation of the Federation enabled Coastguard to become the highly regarded and respected organisation it is today – an organisation we should all feel proud of.
Conference is our opportunity to bring together Coastguard volunteers from around the country to celebrate our successes and share important information. This year, conference returns to Wairakei Resort, located in the picturesque Wairakei Park near Taupo.
The 2016 conference acknowledges and celebrates our tremendous past and our achievements over the last 40 years. It is a special event to mark this significant milestone. The programme delivers a weekend that aims to inspire, inform, educate and entertain. It features inspirational keynote speaker Olympic Trans-Atlantic Rower Rob Hamill– we also have informative plenary sessions and workshops, an exhibition and great networking opportunities lined up. A highlight is the Gala Awards Dinner on Saturday evening (with Sir Graham Henry as a special guest) where we recognise the outstanding efforts of our dedicated volunteers.
We encourage all Coastguard volunteers to attend this year’s conference and look forward to seeing you there.
